In November 2025, I had the privilege of officially launching my new book, THE WAR FOR MIDDLE-EARTH: J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis Confront the Gathering Storm, 1933-1945, at the University of Austin. Founded by renowned British historian Niall Ferguson, the University of Austin is devoted to defending the ideals and institutions of Western civilization, a task that was crucially important to both Tolkien and Lewis during the crisis years of the 1930s and 40s.
